Keeping a web site up to date is simple... isn't it? It can be, depending on your requirements and abilities. Would you do the maintenance on your own company car?
Professional tools, such as Dreamweaver, can be rather daunting, if not dangerous, for beginners. However, cheaper and simpler tools, such as Macromedia Contribute exist and can make simple updates as easy as using a word processor, but preventing you from creating problems by restricting access to the template.
Perhaps if you have a specific format of update, a better route is to produce a web application, whereby you can deliver the update via a simple web page and the update is automatically drawn and displayed from a database.
Perhaps the best solution is to give your updates to a web professional, such as us - we already have the tools and will be able to deliver it faster and more efficiently than you. It is, after all, our profession! |
